Thursday Work Wear

I used to have this fabulous job that allowed me to wear the best and most amazing fashions each and every day. Now I have this amazing job that has my fashion a bit limited ... All Black. I must admit when I first started at Victoria's Secret I had three black shirts, one skirt, and two pairs of pants. I don't wear black. I've learned this about black apparel and I am going to apologize upright for saying this because it may offend you. I "feel" like woman that wear black do so to hide themselves. Yes, yes, we've all heard the comment, "It makes me look skinnier!" No my friend. It makes you invisible. Woman with confidence aren't afraid to wear color, rock the current fashions (correctly) and make a statement. So get out of your black, put on a bold purple or green, they're super trendy. And ROCK IT! Meanwhile here I am wearing the boring drab color we call black.

Shirt: Forever 21

Wednesday's "Blogger Tip of the Day": Skin Care

Can we talk skin care? How do you fight aging?

I just recently started Mary Kay's Timewise 3 step skin care program. My sister turned me on to the idea when she decided to start selling all of their products. It's only been three days but I am loving it thus far. The added moisture is simply stunning. This led me to an topic that was is very important.

Here are a few ways you can ensure you stall your skin from aging.

Sunscreen: Even if you're sitting in the shade, you need it. Not only does it prevent aging but it allows your skin to relax and do some repair work instead of doing everything it can to block those blinding rays.

Moisturizer: It plumps up your skins. It also allows your make-up to start with a super dewy base.

Antioxidants: Yummy foods like blueberries and pomegranates. They soothe inflammation (and they help your diet).

Omega-fatty-acid-rich foods: Mmmm, wild salmon and walnuts. They delay the aging of your skin. Brilliant!

What else? Yup, dark circles do respond to topical treatments - to a limited degree. For shadows under your eyes, use lightening agents like arbutin and retinol. Bags? Cucumber do work! So do tea bags.

What has worked for you?

Tuesday "Blogger Tip of the Day"

No photos today. An otherwise bleak all black outfit followed by an immense amount of rain left nothing to photograph.

But as promised, here's my "Blogger tip of day". Instant awakeness: Mascara on an otherwise bare face.

Do you have an accessory that you don't leave the house without? I do. I cannot walk out the door without earrings. Ever. No way. No how. It's odd, I know. But it's a reality.

Heading out for a ride.

Sunday is by far my most favorite day of the week. I love starting the day renewed at church. Feeling His Spirit fresh in my heart and ready to guide me through the week. When I have the entire day off it's so nice to be able to spend the whole day with my husband and family. This Sunday was no different.

The one thing that is different about Sundays off in the early fall are my apparel choices. Stay with me folks... it's not easy appearing fashionable and riding on the back of  a motorcycle with a helmet, leather jacket and chaps. So I prefer to stick with adorable boots, my fake Michael Kors sunnies, and a few extra layers. As soon as I arrive at my destination, the jacket and helmet come off.

Here's a peek into yesterdays apparel ...

Larger pictures to come. It's been so long, I completely forgot to how to make them big :(

The motorcycle's name is Sophia. She's a HD Softtail. I love her. Love you guys too. Toodles.

Thanks for sticking around.

When I asked a friend the other day if I should get back to blogging she responded with a "YES!" Thank you for that. When I mentioned it to a new friend who has never followed she said, "You'd have so many new people to inspire." Thanks again for the inspiration.

I need to be frank. It's not that I stopped because I couldn't find time. It's simply that I stopped because I am a hugely competitive person. I am also very compulsive. Blogging took these two personality traits to a new level.

First, I knew my blog would never be like Kendi Everyday. And that annoyed me. Second, I was constantly looking to buy new things to show you (and you too) simply because I love to shop.

But all the way I realized a few things. My blog will never be like the blogs I follow. I do NOT have time for that level of blogging. In addition, I won't stop shopping. I can't. It's just what I do. So, this whole blogging thing will just allow me to share with you (and you too) the many outfits I put together from the multitudes of apparel that live in my four closets. Yes, you read that correctly.

So, here's what my new and improved blog will be about.

1) Consistent posts. Some days I might just provide you with food for thought. For example; Make a frothy evening dress day-friendly. Top it with a big, cozy cardigan.
2) Pictures. Some will be taken by another human (may be a my three year old niece). Many will be taken from my cell phone and will be blurry, grainy, and terrible. But, you'll get the point.
3) Link free. There will no longer be links to the apparel I am wearing. That took way too much time and was annoying. If you're interested just comment in the appropriate post and I will respond or email me at veyouravich@gmail.com
4) About me :) More about me. My life. My day. My job, etc. The focus is changing so that the people who can't be a part of my life on a daily basis can get an idea of what is happening. The blog may get personal so if you're in it for the fashion, opt out now.

As I stated previously, thanks for sticking around. I'll be back tomorrow. I have an exciting outfit in mind. I am hoping it works out once I'm actually outfitted.

Much love <3,
Virginia
