Love my weekends!

Hi there! Happy weekend! This one has been an interesting one for me. Perhaps there will be more on that at a later date.

I have the weekend off! Yay. My husband I enjoyed sleeping in then regretfully had to complete multiple chores. It felt great to get them done but I will admit that I wished I had a cleaning person at multiple times throughout the day. We ended up going out for dinner and enjoying our time together very, very much and now 5 hours later I am enjoying a soft pretzel with mustard. Mmmm.

So, here's what my outfit looked like. Enjoy ... Oh, and enjoy your weekend!

A few of my faves...

I am pretty certain that the majority of you have very little time to comb your own hair, let alone consume the majority of your personal time reading blogs. But in the rare event that your Monday morning is in fact filled with free time to browse the internet, I'd like to devote this post to a few of my favorite blogs. Check them out!

Lilly's Style: Lilly is the reason I started blogging. She's beautiful and her trend is SPOT-ON. I think you'll enjoy your style.

simplyme091909.blogspot.com

Kendi Everyday: This girl blogs. I am pretty certain it's part of her daily income but she is really, really clever. And her sense of style is something to be admired.

http://www.kendieveryday.com/

Putting Me Together: Aubrey has an amazing heart and a very classic style. She takes the time to walk you through the basics of putting together an outfit.

http://www.puttingmetogether.com/

Other Side of Gray: Annie is hilarious! She is ALWAYS trying new things. Her style is really great but her blog is worth visiting.

http://othersideofgray.blogspot.com/

Everyday is a country song: Maria is a friend of a friend who I have felt an emotional connection with since the first day I read her blog. She is an amazing woman with a journey toward motherhood. You'll laugh, cry and smile reading her posts.

Enjoy the photos, words, and time that each one of the woman put into their blogs. I know I do!

Anniversary Weekend

If you're married you'll be able to chime in on what makes great marriage. Support, dedication, understanding, real respect, forgiveness, kindness, regret, and love. Did I realize this when I said, I DO? Absolutely not. Have I learned this with time? Yes. There have been moments I have thought to myself, I am done! There have been moments he has thought the same. But you know what, we said it was "forever" and if you know anything about me, I am no dang quitter. So I will stick this out until the end and each day may be tough. Each day may be fun. Each day I will love the man that holds me so close I can hardly breathe because I said I would to my God, to my family, and to my friends and because I love him more than I can express right now... I am blessed. Really, really blessed.

Phew... on to the outfit. We spend the last day on the bike. Tomorrow Sophia returns to her storage facility until Spring appears. Let me say, it was cold. So I piled on a warm sweater, a sweatshirt, and my leather jacket for the trip. But, for appearance purposes, let's say I wore this :)

Comfy day

Well hello weekend ... almost. I am super excited to share a few long days with my husband as we celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary this Saturday, October 13th. I am blessed to have a husband who accepts me for the weirdo I am and who loves me unconditionally. I will keep you posted about the events of our weekend.

Today was chore day. After chores I ran a few errands. If you follow me on Facebook you've heard about my recent hatred for jeans. I've also found myself gearing up for my off days in very comfortable clothing. For two reasons I guess; It's comfy and I am now amongst the most adorable PINK merchandise at Victoria's Secret.

I think the initial thought with this outfit would be to put on jeans. But these black leggings worked perfectly. This shirt is actually orange and brown, not gray as it appears. It was comfy and I can't wait to wear it again.

Fall Wants.

Hi there. The crazy-ness that is my life of retail (and we're just gearing up for holidays) hasn't allowed any adorable outfits for me to post. I have so many wants this retail season. Fall always does that to me and if you know me, you know I have a really hard time saying no (to anything and everyone except my husband). So to follow I'll share a few things I really want to incorporate into my fall casual life. Feel free to share a few of yours in the comments!

1. Black riding boots - I have three pairs of black boots. I am looking for a simple riding boot that I can pair with everything. These caught my eye.
Aldo - Taite

2. Boyfriend Jeans - True boyfriend fit with a little sex appeal too. I picture these with my Toms, my flats, and occasionally they might get tucked into one of my many pairs of boots.

Gap- Sexy Boyfriend.

3. A new handbag - This will never enter my life.
I guess it could. I could possibly convince my husband I'm the most amazing wife on the planet and I deserve this. But how realistic would that be. I mean seriously... A little about this bag. It's stunning. Beautiful. I want it so much. What can I do to make this happen?

And this concludes my wants for the moment. Thoughts? Wants? Needs? I'd love to know I'm not the only one.

Friday/Saturday Outfit Alert

Hi friends! Happy weekend.

So, I totally planned an outfit in my head and it didn't work out anything like I expected. Luckily I dove into one of my four closets, yes you read that correctly, and I found a few pieces that I believe made this outfit work. The dress is definitely too short for this 31 year old but I decided I needed to keep it in my life and in the future I'll probably pair it with boots and leggings (or tights). I do dig these flats though. Animal print is such a great and timeless trend.

Any big plans this weekend? Mine include a lot of work. Not like chores, or yard work. Real work. Like selling lots of bras and panties to woman all across the Lehigh Valley who actually have no idea what size they are suppose to be wearing. I hate to say this, but you're probably one of them. Have you been fitted recently?

Dress: Cotton On
Sweater: Mossimo for Target (old)
Flats: Lauren Conrad for Kohl's (old)
Scarf: maurices (old)
Purse: Michael Kors
Watch: Michael Kors
Earrings & Bracelet: Lia Sophia
Belt: Target (old)

Can we say accessorize much?! XOXO

Thursday Work Wear

I used to have this fabulous job that allowed me to wear the best and most amazing fashions each and every day. Now I have this amazing job that has my fashion a bit limited ... All Black. I must admit when I first started at Victoria's Secret I had three black shirts, one skirt, and two pairs of pants. I don't wear black. I've learned this about black apparel and I am going to apologize upright for saying this because it may offend you. I "feel" like woman that wear black do so to hide themselves. Yes, yes, we've all heard the comment, "It makes me look skinnier!" No my friend. It makes you invisible. Woman with confidence aren't afraid to wear color, rock the current fashions (correctly) and make a statement. So get out of your black, put on a bold purple or green, they're super trendy. And ROCK IT! Meanwhile here I am wearing the boring drab color we call black.

Wednesday's "Blogger Tip of the Day": Skin Care

Can we talk skin care? How do you fight aging?

I just recently started Mary Kay's Timewise 3 step skin care program. My sister turned me on to the idea when she decided to start selling all of their products. It's only been three days but I am loving it thus far. The added moisture is simply stunning. This led me to an topic that was is very important.

Here are a few ways you can ensure you stall your skin from aging.

Sunscreen: Even if you're sitting in the shade, you need it. Not only does it prevent aging but it allows your skin to relax and do some repair work instead of doing everything it can to block those blinding rays.

Moisturizer: It plumps up your skins. It also allows your make-up to start with a super dewy base.

Antioxidants: Yummy foods like blueberries and pomegranates. They soothe inflammation (and they help your diet).

Omega-fatty-acid-rich foods: Mmmm, wild salmon and walnuts. They delay the aging of your skin. Brilliant!

What else? Yup, dark circles do respond to topical treatments - to a limited degree. For shadows under your eyes, use lightening agents like arbutin and retinol. Bags? Cucumber do work! So do tea bags.

What has worked for you?

Tuesday "Blogger Tip of the Day"

No photos today. An otherwise bleak all black outfit followed by an immense amount of rain left nothing to photograph.

But as promised, here's my "Blogger tip of day". Instant awakeness: Mascara on an otherwise bare face.

Do you have an accessory that you don't leave the house without? I do. I cannot walk out the door without earrings. Ever. No way. No how. It's odd, I know. But it's a reality.

Heading out for a ride.

Sunday is by far my most favorite day of the week. I love starting the day renewed at church. Feeling His Spirit fresh in my heart and ready to guide me through the week. When I have the entire day off it's so nice to be able to spend the whole day with my husband and family. This Sunday was no different.

The one thing that is different about Sundays off in the early fall are my apparel choices. Stay with me folks... it's not easy appearing fashionable and riding on the back of  a motorcycle with a helmet, leather jacket and chaps. So I prefer to stick with adorable boots, my fake Michael Kors sunnies, and a few extra layers. As soon as I arrive at my destination, the jacket and helmet come off.

Here's a peek into yesterdays apparel ...

Larger pictures to come. It's been so long, I completely forgot to how to make them big :(

The motorcycle's name is Sophia. She's a HD Softtail. I love her. Love you guys too. Toodles.

Thanks for sticking around.

When I asked a friend the other day if I should get back to blogging she responded with a "YES!" Thank you for that. When I mentioned it to a new friend who has never followed she said, "You'd have so many new people to inspire." Thanks again for the inspiration.

I need to be frank. It's not that I stopped because I couldn't find time. It's simply that I stopped because I am a hugely competitive person. I am also very compulsive. Blogging took these two personality traits to a new level.

First, I knew my blog would never be like Kendi Everyday. And that annoyed me. Second, I was constantly looking to buy new things to show you (and you too) simply because I love to shop.

But all the way I realized a few things. My blog will never be like the blogs I follow. I do NOT have time for that level of blogging. In addition, I won't stop shopping. I can't. It's just what I do. So, this whole blogging thing will just allow me to share with you (and you too) the many outfits I put together from the multitudes of apparel that live in my four closets. Yes, you read that correctly.

So, here's what my new and improved blog will be about.

1) Consistent posts. Some days I might just provide you with food for thought. For example; Make a frothy evening dress day-friendly. Top it with a big, cozy cardigan.
2) Pictures. Some will be taken by another human (may be a my three year old niece). Many will be taken from my cell phone and will be blurry, grainy, and terrible. But, you'll get the point.
3) Link free. There will no longer be links to the apparel I am wearing. That took way too much time and was annoying. If you're interested just comment in the appropriate post and I will respond or email me at veyouravich@gmail.com
4) About me :) More about me. My life. My day. My job, etc. The focus is changing so that the people who can't be a part of my life on a daily basis can get an idea of what is happening. The blog may get personal so if you're in it for the fashion, opt out now.

As I stated previously, thanks for sticking around. I'll be back tomorrow. I have an exciting outfit in mind. I am hoping it works out once I'm actually outfitted.

Much love <3,
Virginia

Summer rants and summer fashion.

I'm alive. But man oh man, has this whole blogging thing changed in two little months. I had a friend request that I get back to this. Thanks friend. I do intend to return to this whole blogging thing it's just that so much is going on. What is going on you might ask? Let me tell you!

Two months ago my husband was offered an amazing new job for an amazing company six hours from our current living location. The positives are that it's a perfect new job opportunity for him. It's also back in our home area so we'll be able to spend many moments with our siblings, parents, nieces, nephews, and best friends. The negatives are that his job started nearly seven weeks ago leaving me alone in this big old northern state. It's been a wild seven weeks. I've been through the most emotional times of my life within these six weeks which have reminded me of my faith and how thankful I am that my God is bigger than everything I am going through. But, I've made it. This is my last weekend here in New Hampshire and next weekend I'll be spending a few wonderful days with my husband while we find a place to settle, temporarily.

It is so bittersweet to leave my new best friends behind, to leave my adorable little home empty, and to leave behind the job I worked so hard at making successful. But I am confident that the relationships I have made will remain true even 400 miles away. I will find a job that makes me feel even more confident and content than I was. And, as far as where I'll live ... that will also fall into place because my God is good and He will answer my prayers according to His plan.

So what is new on the horizon for this blog? Well, my photog will be back! I have so many fabulous outfit creations to share I can hardly even hold it all in. In the meantime I will post a few pictures that might inspire you until next time ...

On to summer fashion. It's so easy. That's the best thing about getting dressed for the summer. There is one important thing to remember. Less is more, but sometimes too little will look sloppy. If you're interested in wearing your favorite tank and a cute pair of denim shorts, well unless you're going to the park with your kids, don't wear a pair of foam flip flops. It just looks sloppy. Add some accessories. Wear a shoe with structure. Do something that makes it look like you tried.

A few trends that I love and I've featured in my photos are the following: The hi-low hem, the romper, and color blocking.

Let's start with the hi-low hem. It's so so trendy and such a great silhouette for almost any woman. It's all over the runways, in high end fashion, in nearly every store. It truly is classy.

The romper is NOT a great silhouette for any woman but those that are willing to try it out, watch your shoe. Too casual and you look like you have no idea what you're doing. I have to jump off tangent and tell you I hate the thought process that some women have when they feel like they'll be TOO dressed up. Ladies, there is no such thing as getting too dressed up. I mean seriously, what will people say when they see you too dressed up? "Oh, she looks good!" Or, "I love her outfit!" Or, "I wonder where she just came from?" Just do it! Get dressed as if every day you intend to walk out of your home thinking, "Dang, I look good!"

Lastly, the color blocking trend continues and the shades are so amazing even into the summer. Experiment and I bet it works! And if you need to ensure it does work, add the accessories to make it work.

Happy shopping and thanks for reading! <3,V

Everybody, Everywear: Pastels

Pastels | Everybody, Everywear

Cardigan and dress: maurices
Shoes: Lauren Conrad via Kohls

If this is not the cutest dress you've ever seen, I don't know where you are shopping. I seriously fell head over heels for it the moment it was delivered to my store.

I'm not really a fan of pastels but yellow and green are different. Yellow reminds me of a chicken. I love eggs so I love my chicken friends. Green reminds me of leprechauns and I am part Irish so I do believe in luck. These colors make me happy and they go together very, very well.

Back to this outfit ... What are your thoughts? Does the brown work? Would you wear a different color shoe or accessorize differently?

Thanks for stopping by ... Next time I appear, I'll announce where I've been and what I've been busy doing.

There will be no photos.

This post is simply to assure all 63 of you that I am alive and well. There is so much going on in my life right now. All of which is fantastic. I will update you will the amazing news and some wonderful outfits when the time comes. But in the meantime I can do nothing of the sort because my energy is lacking and my words are few. How can this be, you ask? It just is.

And I know I said there would be no photos but I had to post a picture of some of the goodies I've purchased this past month. Let the games begin ...

Everybody, Everywhere: Chooz'in Green.

Green: Everybody, Everywear

Dress: H&M
Cardigan: maurices.com
Shoes: Nina via Zappos.com

When Everybody, Everywhere announced the "green" concept, I was immediately excited. Then I opened my closet and found that green is not a color I would call a favorite of mine. But, I have been dying to wear this bird dress since I grabbed it a few months ago at H&M. It just so happens that my bestest friend in the whole wide world is getting married this May and has incorporated green shoes into our bridesmaids attire. Adorable, you're probably saying. Yup! Adorable. So, these are the shoes. I am awfully bright, huh? Including those legs. Did somebody say "Spray Tan!"

Oh, necklace! What are you doing?!?!

Top: maurices
Blazer: Gap (very old, like a decade)
Pants: Pac Sun
Belt: Aero (old)
Flats: maurices (even older)

Life just gets busy, ya know? That's what has happened. I keep assuring myself that as soon as the sun starts to show it's face and present us with longer days, I'll be back to my blogging self. In the mean time, I wanted to let you know I'm alive and although I'm not posting the most exciting outfits, I have put them together. In fact, I've become so clever in my outfit preparation. Who would have thunk I'd decide to wear these crazy clown pants again with a cherry print top. It's like I am in third grade all over again! I do love this top though. I understand if you think it's strange. I intend to get a ton of use out of it...

Feeling a little metallic?

Shirt: Rock & Republic for Kohl's
Jeans: J Brand (similar here)
Socks: Kohl's
Boots: Fergie for Famous Footwear (similar here)

Metallic? Oh wait, that was just me. I can't say I'm looking to indulge in metal anything, I'm just feeling like I should have definitely auditioned for the newest season of Terminator (oh, wait here was no audition. It got cancelled). And so ends my hopes and dreams. I guess Dancing with the Stars is my next jaunt. Search for me on CBS. Or, NBC? Gah, is it FOX?

Dead grass and windy weather

Cardigan: Old Navy
Shirt: Ralph Lauren
Belt: Aero
Jeans: Seven for all Mankind
Shoes: Kohl's
Jewelry: Charlotte Russe

Rushing out the door today involved little thought on my part in putting together an outfit. But when it was all said and done, and photographed, I liked it. The colors are so great. Everything is either two years old (except the boots) so I won't be linking the items back to for you to buy, but I hope you'll experiment on your own with colors and styles.

In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the dead grass and weeds on my front lawn. Heck, I'm grateful there is absolutely no snow to be photographed.
